Usually when I learn about a conspiracy theory, my reaction is something like “Wow, I can’t believe that there are people who are so paranoid they believe this” But the “5G network transmits COVID-19” conspiracy theory.... I was momentarily just completely stunned. When I recovered my reaction was “Seriously? There are people who believe this? How can people be that stupid?” I know some people are ‘intellectually challenged’, but it’s a real shock that there are enough people who believe this that it has come to mainstream attention. The level of complete and utter stupidity needed for someone to think a biological virus can be spread to people via radio transmission is utterly baffling. How have these people managed to simply survive for this long? Something as simple as drinking some water becomes a life-threatening situation when “drink water/breath air” is a difficult concept to grasp, and accidental drowning on a glass of water is a real possibility....

I’ve learned that with something like covid, it’s better to assume it’s worse than it is in order to maintain safety. When people act like it’s not deadly, or dangerous, that’s when it spreads like crazy. You won’t believe how many times I’ve had to tell my family that, even though they know the area and the people, you don’t know what they do all day or who they’re around. It’s scary how much people underestimate this pandemic.

Made in a lab, accidentally released by well-documented lack of safety standards before China had finished rounding up the Uighurs in sufficient numbers to separate enough "re-educated" children from their parents and wipe out the concentration camps due to an "unfortunate naturally occurring virus" so they wouldn't get hit with (HAH!) human right's violations. Also, the timing of the COVID pandemic also happened to occur when the atrocities in Hong Kong were *finally* starting to actually make headline nightly news after months of being ignored by every conservative, liberal, and moderate news outlet. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if the first (willing) victim was a scientist with Uighur family and family in Hong Kong who decided to sink the ship just to kill the Captain, and went strolling through Wuhan after having symptoms to spread it purposely, thinking the world would blame China and look into its' atrocious human rights violations. Sadly, that person didn't factor in Trump's ego & reliance on Chinese sweatshops for his flags, signs, shirts, hats, printing presses, etc. for the election.

See, the issue when you tell people to check out reputable sources, they look at Newsmax and InfoWars, to name a couple. I know people that look at Newsmax because, and I'm not lying here, "Fox is too far left for me." I didn't believe someone could ever think that Fox is left, but apparently, there's a few posts about that very thing on the Tucker Carlson subreddit. Here's an actual quote from one of the commenters: "I'm so angry at Faux News calling Arizona for Biden and refusing to call numerous states for Trump!! If you look up Kathryn Murdoch on Twitter, she's the owner's wife and a total liberal!! She celebrated when China Joe "won"." Yeah. They just called Rupert Murdoch's wife a liberal... Anytime I hear someone throw out a conspiracy theory about Covid or election results, even if it's a family member, it gives me Forest Whitaker Eye.

To those who think they're awake and are pro-GOP. Here's the truth you're all being brainwashed to deny: pizzagate is low hanging fruit. stop falling for the obvious they want you to know about stuff in plain sight that's why they put it out there. Yes it's for MK-ULTRA effects but it's also meant for you to look at. Did you guys know there's a BANNED documentary called "Conspiracy of Silence" that predates pizzagate? Yes it exposes the GOP for having a pedophile sex ring. Here's the truth about how the 2 parties opperate and that they're 2 sides of the same coin. Different approaches same agenda. As well as my personal solution the only real solution.. Republicans = dystopia (society driven based around chaos, violence, brutality) Escape from L.A./NY apocolyptic scenario every person for themselves, survival of the fiddest. Democrats = utopia (society driven based around obedience, slavery and soft/slow killing) The Matrix scenario kept within a false perfect world while slowly being killed off from poisons and toxins. You need to realize this is all a game and you're falling for all the traps. lol it's sad how easily people are manipulated by either side of the spectrum. Left or Right doesn't matter you're all brainwashed do more research. Learn what controlled opposition is what a shill is! Idiots on the left are falling for the DNC's utopia. Idiots on the right are falling for the GOP's dystopia. fucking wake up! my solution: Eco/Green-Anarchism = freedom, peace, equality, governless without corporatism society. which sounds good to you? Which society would you rather live in? Are you: A. a Republican/Libertarian/ANCAP (a believer of nonsensical bullshit) B. a Democrat/Green/Solarpunker (a believer of the "official" story/experts without question) C. an Eco/Green-Anarchist (a critical thinking individual who can think for yourself) 3rd party systems like the Green Party, Libertarian Party and ANCAPS (Anarcho-Capitalists), independents are controlled opposition they still promote the existance of corporatism and government. Any government big or small means control, fear and enslavement. "I leave symbols for the symbol minded" ~George Carlin "The best way to control the opposition is to lead it." -Vladmir Lenin

John Oliver, I love and share your videos all the time! But did you ever think that so many people believe in Conspiracy Theories because many things our Conspiracy Theory parents said were going on behind the scenes (red flag operations, fake attacks to warrant wars, medical testing and drugging of civilians without their knowledge or consent....) came with FOI documents 30-50 years later that proved they were 100% correct? That the US Government knew about Pearl Harbour and chose not to act? Check it out for yourself- the FOI documents are there :) That Jim Jones did not, in fact, shoot himself in the head and was, in fact, being stalked by the CIA? The former can be evidenced if not proven by the photographs of him lying dead, with a bullet hole in his left temple and an exit hole in his right. He was right handed. The latter is provable by FOI documents released BY THE CIA. I could go on. Maybe the only point I'm making is that, while the earth is not flat and AIDS was not manufactured in a lab (so far as we know or can prove today), people have an inherent distrust in organisations that consistently lie to them and violate their human rights. This particular episode of yours is like taking kids raised in abusive homes and making a vlog about how stupid they are to think that those in authority would ever wish to harm them. Frankly, much as I love your shows, this one disappoints me. I should think you would have more insight than this. Ultimately, there are only two kinds of people in the world- those who believe the Government has their best intentions at heart and those who think. Now challenge my view by making a video about all the times 'conspiracy theorists' proved their cases just by sitting back and waiting for the FOI documents, which normally either surface in the end, or a great deal of FOI's are released with every single word redacted because the Government still doesn't want to tell you what they've done, whilst giving the impression of being forthright and transparent.

There is chance the virus was leaked. The Wuhan lab had terrible security protocols. The US inspected the lab a few years back and were VERY concerned. The US military warned the POTUS of horrible virus in November 2019. So were other countries. All were ignored. Fauci stated a pandemic would occur during Trumps presidency back in 2017/18. This clown should do some homework. 50,000 people involved in the A-bomb and it was never leaked. So covering up a lab security breach is a walk in the park. The words "conspiracy theorist" are so gaslighted. There is a reason America is rated so low in education. We are taught to directly learn and not question any information we are given. When we do question things, they are debunked or we are completely made to look like idiots. Even if some theories are false, let's remember that most things we see on media are false. Actually, most news sources are paid to say certain things if not the exact same message as hundreds of others. If you think there is no corruption in this world, you are brainwashed like every other person! wake up.

Sorry caps, but yeah, that wasn't a conspiracy theory, it's an actual conspiracy. That's something a lot of anti-conspiracy theory diatribes tends to over look. Not all conspiracy theories are false, and I wonder how this one adds up in that equation, even if it's not a science based conspiracy. The "non-conspiracy" explanation is usually provided by the main stream media, and not experts. Or the news hand picks an expert who is going to say what they want. In an America that gets the majority of their information from only one accredited news organization, it's easy to manufacture false consensuses. Fox does this all the time. MSNBC, too. The very main stream media organizations that you've built a career out of drag through the dirt. (Let's face it, John. You're not in the MSM. Never were. But then again, if you look at it, that's actually a compliment.) And as for plausibility, well lets just say our 3 letter agencies exceed the the capabilities necessary to maintain domestic security. Not just for themselves, but for other countries as well. /s Now I don't want to represent a large group of people as being conspiracy theorists based solely on a factor that was determined by their birth. That would be bigotry, John. I must confess though that I also am something of a conspiracy theorist. I'm also a Millennial, and married without children, cause Millennials are killing babies. I thought you might want that data so you can wrap your head around what I'm trying to express to you. Not all conspiracy theorists believe the same conspiracy. Also, consider that not every "Conspiracy" is a secret, like todays development that Jeff Bezos has a raging hardon for a public 3 way with Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. It's a conspiracy. A large corporate entity with arguably as much hardware as the US Armed Forces, and drone capabilities far superior than that of the USAF, is leveraging its full weight against individual politicians. That is a group of individuals working towards a common end, and is the exact definition of a conspiracy. Conspiracies don't even need to be negative, but negative things seem to get more ratings. Edward Snowden conspired with journalists to flee America and seek exile. He's a fucking hero and a legend in the infosec community. He's been giving speeches since 2013, but the main stream media doesn't cover those, because Ed's doing something positive with his exile. That's bad for ratings. We don't talk about most emerging Conspiracies as Conspiracy Theories though. No, that label is reserved for Uncles, Grandmas, MAGAs and, the final category, ideas that you don't want to spend the mental effort to consider the possibility of. Things like "the Clintons embezzled money through the now defunct Clinton Global Initiative for years". Now, before you go labeling this a conspiracy theory, let me just say that this is actually just a conspiracy theory. You see, normal every day citizens, like the citizens who saved gamestop and sent a big fuck you to walstreet, or the people open multiple protest streamers simultaneously so they can tweet to activists about signs that police are building up to employ a kettle tactic and other useful info... We actually employ your advice about checking sources and information. But it's difficult to define "Trusted Sources" right now. We can't trust WaPo, we can't trust Fox. We can't trust MSNBC. We can't trust our local news. We sure as hell can't trust CNN. Their lead anchor's name is Wolf, and he's a literal vampire. We used to be able to trust the Guardian, but that place went the way of the BBC World News after they lost Glenn Greenwald. (By that I mean only British persons think it's relevant.) The intercept gets some good scoops, far better than TMZ, and a much higher success rate, but it seems like they only chase scoops and leave out the day to day news that is also very important for a balanced news diet. So without a non-partisan responsible source of legitimate information like the Associated Press or Reuters to serve as our primary news outlet, we instead built our own trusted sources of information. It's a concept that gets a lot of attention now in the business sector, because it employs cheap or free labor, without regard for age restrictions or sovereign boundaries, and has literally 0 government oversight in almost every application. It's called crowd sourcing. So when a juicy new bit of info spins off a new conspiracy theory, we start collecting and organizing all the data we can. Like when Wikileaks drops a new load of documents. Now, because it's crowdsourced, different people look at different data. For example one group of individuals found a reference to a really amazing artist called Marina Abramovic, and that's where Pizzagate truly began. Now it started with just a couple of curious individuals researching Mariana, and sharing images of her work. As they say in the news industry, if it bleeds, it leads. And when something leads in a communal environment like reddit, it hits the front page and goes viral. And honestly, Pizzagate spread more rapidly than corona virus. Trump didn't create it. He didn't amplify it. CNN and MSNBC did when THEY coined the term "Fake News" and made this conspiracy theory a leading story for weeks. In general 4chan fashion, the trolls adopted the term like a badge adding fuel to the fire. Meanwhile, some of us were focused on an attachment from one Doug Band. TYT actually covered the story quite well considering Cenk Uygur was at the time more recognizable than Adam Kokesh, even though a study of DC residents found that more people could remember Adam's name. Now this document from Podesta's emails had nothing to do with the campaign. It was about the Clinton Global Initiative. I don't know the exact date, but it was sometime around November 18th, 2011. That's right smack in the middle of Rodham's term as Secretary of State. *(Can I call her that? Her parents did. I go by my middle name. A lot of people don't even know my first name is John, just like yours. Yet, every time I go to the doctor, they barge in and assume my spoken name, then proceed to ridicule me. I'm telling you it's traumatizing.) Long story short, Dow Chemicals had an agreement with Kuwait, and the government pulled out. So Dow Chemicals sued Kuwait. The entire thing actually started in 2008, but Kuwait somehow lost to Dow and owed them something to the tune of 2.2 Billion dollars. The country is the size of Connecticut with almost half the GDP. If you saw Kuwait in a mall, you might mistake them for the Kardashians. And I hope you notice that the running theme here so far is that ab-so-lute-ly none of this has to do with Rodham and her Non-profit organizations. And you'd be right, if they all weren't donors to the Clinton foundation. You heard me, that's right, the Kardashians, disproportionately large numbers of Connecticans (probably not a conspiracy), Dow Chemicals, and even the government of Kuwait all donate to one of the Clinton organizations. This is perfectly legal. It's exactly how every non-profit works. They propose and plan projects, then go out and raise funds. Honestly, who doesn't love a good fund raiser, whether is a Scholastic book fair, or eating an entire box of fund raiser chocolates in 3 days because you're sick of just eating ramen and grilled cheese for the first 13 years of your life and you're just ready to let diabetes take you. We don't care that the beneficiaries of the fundraiser often receive just a fraction of what's earned. But remember, there are prizes for the top fund raisers or candy bar eaters, and Dow Chemical clearly won that fund raiser. Their revenue is 1/3rd that of Kuwait, at 40 billion. Now GDP and a company's revenue aren't equivalent, but with an extra 2.2 billion in the bank, I'm sure those Dow Chemical yachts got to stretch their sea legs. That's a fuck ton of money. Now, again, this is just a conspiracy theory. I'm not here to tell you that it's true, false, or amplify any message. I seriously hope that the people who have read this far take the time to apply the simple to follow celebrity advice you were so kind to aggregate. Celebrities are clearly the most qualified persons to talk about conspiracies, but I am disappointed you didn't get Charlie Sheen, John McAfee, or Corey Feldman. I would really like to have heard from some of the top experts in the field. So, as a conspiracy theorist who has spent a not insignificant amount of time checking the validity of this particular memo that Doug Band sent out as well as other related emails in the leak, my views on this are that the conspiracy warrants further investigation by a civilian, non-partisan oversight committee that can be trusted.(if such a thing is even possible.) And that's actually how most conspiracy theorists feel about conspiracy theories, that they need further investigation. Your mental image of what a conspiracy theorist is has been provided to you by the entertainment industry and main stream media, not experts. You're propagating this stereotype along with everyone else in the media because that's the image of a conspiracy theorist that's been baked into your brain ever since the Kennedy assassination. Tropes are convenient for storytelling, just look at Hackers. I'm still looking for that cookie monster virus. And finally, from a practical viewpoint, this conspiracy theory is plausible on a practical level. Look at any NPO owned by a politician, and measure the growth of their net worth before and after the founding of the NPO.
